1994
MAKRO Cash and Carry comes to Poland opening its First Warehouse Centre in Warsaw and soon in Sosnowiec and Łódź.

1995
MAKRO stores in Ząbki near Warsaw, Wrocław and Cracow open.

1996
The dynamically expanding company invests in new locations in Poznań, Gdynia, Szczecin and Lublin

1997
MAKRO has already 13 stores. It is also present in Zabrze, Bydgoszcz and Rybnik. First attribution of MAKRO Goldcards takes place

1998
MAKRO Cash and Carry becomes member of the commercial group Metro AG. New stores in Bielsko-Biała and Białystok open

1999
Next three new warehouse centres under MAKRO brand are launched in Katowice, Kielce and Gdańsk-Przejazdów

2001
Store in Częstochowa is made accessible for customers. MAKRO website is launched.

2002
Store in Opole opens. A Program “Aro Shops” dedicated to MAKRO customers – retailers is launched.

2003
In order to increase identification with the holding METRO Cash & Carry International ( globally managing the whole commercial activity of Cash&Carry type within METRO Group) MAKRO in Poland changes its logo lay-out from red and white into yellow and blue.

2004
MAKRO invites its Customers to the 21st store in Rzeszów. The store, built according to recent technological standards, reflects the new strategy and colour lay-out of the company. The Centre of Customer Communication is opened in the Office of the Board.

2005
MAKRO opens its 22nd store in Olsztyn.

2006
In April a Store in Zielona Góra opens. It reflects the new strategy and colour lay-out of the company. In November the number of MAKRO stores in Poland reaches 25! Two new locations are created: in Kalisz and the third store in Warsaw, in Bielany.

2007

MAKRO opens its 26th store in Toruń.

2008

MAKRO opens store in Koszalin, Rzgów and Szczawno-Zdrój. MAKRO has already 29 stores.
